I have spent my life involved in the engineering and manufacturing industry.

After graduating in Electrical Engineering in 1980, I then did a post-graduate course in Production Engineering and got my first job working for a Japanese Electrical Engineering company in Japan, then in Holland and the UK.

After completing a Business School Master’s Programme in 1986, I worked at the head office of British Oxygen (BOC) for six years before returning to Sheffield to take over the family engineering firm Rotary Electrical. It is still operating today as Rotary Engineering UK Ltd, where I am the Chairman, and Rotary Electrical Services, where I continue to be Managing Director.

I am proud to be a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, Freeman of the Cutlers’ Company in Sheffield, a Liveryman of the Company of Engineers in London and a Freeman of the City of London.
